Starting at the Goeree light ship, navigate through the Slijkgat, well indicated by buoys, to the Goeree-locks near Stellendam (VHF 20, tel. +31 187 497350. 24 hrs). Then continue E through Haringvliet to the Haringvliet-bridge (NAP+14 meters between columns 5 and 6. VHF 20, tel. +31 168 277500. Opening every hour, from 09:00 to 21:00). Follow the Hollandsch Diep E to Moerdijk-bridge (NAP+10,20 non-movable). Continue E through the Amer-river to Marina Jachthaven Biesbosch, Drimmelen. Remarks: Attractive stay-overs are the marina at Stellendam behind the Goeree-locks, the old town Hellevoetsluis on the Haringvliet; and especially the old town Willemstad at the Hollandsch Diep. |
Be very careful taking this route, keeping starboard meticulously. The Nieuwe Waterweg is the entrance to the largest port in Europe, used by ships up to and over 300 meters. Entering the Nieuwe Waterweg, keep going E for appx 20 NM. Then turn to starboard entering the river De Noord, to the Alblasserdam-bridge (NAP+12,5 VHF 22 tel. +31 78 6819150 opening 07:00-19:00) and the Papendrechtsche-bridge (VHF 22 tel. +31 78 6337733 opening mon-fri 05:50-19:00, sat-sun 08:50-20:00 or on request) On reaching the towns of Papendrecht and Dordrecht turn to port, entering the Beneden-Merwede river to the Baanhoek-bridge (NAP+13,00 VHF 22 tel. +31 78 6337733 opening mon-sat 05:20-18:18 sun 07:30-18:18) On reaching the river Nieuwe-Merwede, turn starboard and continue to the Hollandsch Diep where you turn port and navigate the river Amer to Marina Jachthaven Biesbosch, Drimmelen. |

Enter the Oosterschelde-estuary through he Roompot-locks (NAP+20 meter. VHF 20, tel. +31 111 659265. Daily 06:00-22:00) Navigate the Oosterschelde E to the Zeeland-bridge (NAP+11,5-15,1 in the middle. VHF 20, tel. +31 111 413237. Every 2 hours.) Then go NE through the Keten and Zijpe to the Krammer-locks (NAP+18,4. VHF 20 tel. +31 167 577000. Daily 24 hrs.) Follow the Krammer and Volkerak NE to the Volkerak-locks (NAP+19 meters. VHF 18/64/25/7 tel. +31 168 477500. Daily 24 hrs.). Follow the Hollandsch Diep E to Moerdijk-bridge (NAP+10,20 non-movable). Continue through the Amer-river to Marina Jachthaven Biesbosch, Drimmelen. Remarks: in full season and weekends Krammer-locks are very busy, count a 2-hour delay. Interesting stops are the medieval town of Zierikzee and a stay-over in the Grevelingen (through the Bruinisse-locks). |
Much used by British yachts. Enter the Westerschelde-estuary and pass through the Vlissingen-locks (VHF 18 tel. +31 118 412372 daily 24 hrs.) Continue north through the Kanaal door Walcheren canal to the town of Veere. Go through the Veere-locks (VHF 18, tel. +31 118 501221. Daily 05:30-23:00) Go west over the Veerse Meer lake to the Zandkreek-locks (VHF 18 tel. +31 113 242320. Daily 06:00-24:00. For motor yachts: bridges are NAP+6,9m. and NAP+3,4m.) After the Zandkreek-locks navigate NE into the Mastgat and Zijpe to the Krammer-locks (NAP+18,4. VHF 20 tel. +31 167 577000. Daily 24 hrs.) Follow the Krammer and Volkerak to the Volkerak-locks (NAP+19 meters. VHF 18/64/25/7 tel. +31 168 477500. Daily 24 hrs). Follow the Hollandsch Diep to Moerdijk-bridge (NAP+10,20 non-movable). The central location of Jachthaven Biesbosch ensures excellent accessibility from all directions. Follow the A16 or A27 and turn onto the A59. Take the exit 32 - Made. From here follow the signs "Biesbosch".
By Air & Rail
Jachthaven Biesbosch is easily accessible from international airports, Eindhoven, Amsterdam (Schiphol) and Rotterdam. - From the airport, take the train to Breda Station. You'll find a taxi rank right outside the station. The taxi ride will take approximately 20 minutes to Jachthaven Biesbosch.
